About Me
I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and raised in the Christian Reformed Church. I attended Grand Rapids Christian Schools and then headed to Calvin College where I got a degree in Biology and married my wife, Jana. Upon graduation, we moved on to Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan for graduate school. I obtained a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Michigan State and have done my training and research in the field of physiology. My current work as a postdoctoral research associate focuses on diet, inflammation, and breast cancer.
After searching to find a local church in the Lansing area, we joined Sycamore Creek Church, a United Methodist Church in south Lansing. As a member of Sycamore Creek Church, I’m leading the small groups ministry, participating in the leadership team of the church, teaching, lay preaching, and organizing the annual men’s retreat.
My wife and I live in Lansing and are the proud parents of two children.
